What the heck is an FBA?
Hi!

A FBA (Fachbereichsarbeit) is a dissertation, which you do for your matura.
You can choose the issue of this textwork all by yourself, and it can be nearly everything (something about mathematics or history etc.) When you've chosen a subject you ask your teacher for permission to write the FBA.
And during the summer holidays before Matura-class you start researching in books and in the internet for information you can use.
And then in, let's say October you start to write the first chapter, which you give to your teacher, so that he or she can read through it. And than you write chapter for chapter and in the end you should come to some conclusion for yourself. In the end you just write what you've personally learned during writing the FBA. nad then when you take your final English examination you do also present your FBA.
It should be about 25- to 30 pages, not including abstract etc.
It some kind of preparation for the dissertations you later have to write, when you study at university
Normally you write such an FBA in German, but if you want to write one in the subject "English", you have to write in English of course.
You see, I would like to write about some English historical issue, but I don't really have an exact idea of what to write...
Well how about: The rise and fall of Olliver Cromwell

ThanksI'll consider it.
Do you know any helpful websites about this issue?
Well, you'll probably want to use "topic" instead of "issue" here: topic, issue
And no, I don't know any page from the top of my head but you can start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Cromwell where you can find an excessive references section.
