including ME and MYSELF ?

Howdy,

I just can't come up with any explanation what sentence is grammatically correct. To me, they both sound fine. Habt ihr Erklärungen?

a) I booked a room for 6 people including myself.
b) I booked a room for 6 people including me.

Both are correct in their own way:

including myself = I've included myself in the booking
including me = Those six people include me; myself is also often used in the same sense.

Thanks a bunch! Now that you're saying it, it makes sense! :-)

In a) "including" serves as a participle followed by an object, the reflexive pronoun "myself" relating to "I".

The "including" in b) then serves as a preposition followed by "me", which therefore doesn't relate to the "I" but the group.

I guess that could be an explanation for the grammatical correctness?
